what's included?

Your pet portrait will be an original, hand-painted,

gouache painting on 100% cotton watercolour paper,

supported by archival mat board with a custom art label. 

To ensure your artwork arrives safe and sound, free tracked and

insured shipping within Canada is included. If you would prefer local pick up in central Edmonton, you will receive a $20 discount on your order. 

 

Framing is not included.

One Pet on 8 x 8" = $140 ($120 with local pick up)

Two Pets on 12 x 12" = $200 ($180 with local pick up)

Three Pets on 12 x 16" = $260 ($240 with local pick up)

Four Pets on 12 x 16" or 16 x 16" =  $300 ($280 with local pick up)

Five Pets on 12 x 16" or 16 x 16" = $330 ($310 with local pick up)

A 50% deposit is required to confirm the commission. The remaining amount is due once the artwork is complete. You may pay with cash or e-transfer.

If you are looking for a custom size, or if you would like your pet portrait to include more than just the pet (like maybe the chair where their favourite sleeping spot is), let me know and we can discuss the possibilities!

background colour options

Now offering background colours for your pet portrait. Options include (but not limited to) cheery colours like pale pink, creamy yellow, pastel peach, misty blue, and pale lime! And, if you are a purist, classic white is still an option.

reference photos

 

Please send photos to nancynickolsondraws@gmail.com. I need at least one photo with good lighting that captures the whole body (ideally at the animal's eye level). Additional photos are helpful to show details like the colour of the eyes, collar, favourite toy, treats, etc. To ensure I create the painting of your dreams, please tell me about all the details you want in the artwork prior to signing the contract.

I am currently booking holiday commissions with paintings ready to be picked up or mailed out by Dec 19th.

gift certificates

​

Give the gift of a pet portrait commission! This is a great option if your timeline is tight or if you can't track down photos without the gift recipient.

​

How it works: You purchase a gift certificate by prepaying for the full amount of the commission through e-transfer. Once received, I will e-mail your gift certificate. You can either send the certificate to your loved one as a digital version or you can print it. Then, in the new year, your gift recipient can contact me at any time when they are ready to have their artwork started. They will send me their photos and I will create the artwork!
